Andrew Herrmann, PE, Named Winner of ENR New York’s Inaugural Legacy Award

October 28, 2014

Hardesty & Hanover Principal Emeritus, Andrew Herrmann, PE, has been honored with the 2014 ENR Legacy Award. The Legacy Award will be given annually by ENR Regional Editors to an individual who has achieved a lifetime legacy of service in design and construction, both to the profession and to the community. This is the first year for the award. Spanning four decades, Herrmann has long been a true leader, devoting countless hours of service to the industry through active involvement in numerous organizations including ASCE and HMS, all while leading some of H&H’s signature projects.

Herrmann was one of the key figures in the early formation of Heavy Movable Structures, Inc. – a non-profit industry group focused on advancing the state-of-the-art in Heavy Movable Structures. His service at ASCE reached its pinnacle in 2011-2012 when he served as the president, representing the entire 145,000-person organization to the rest of the nation. He served on the Advisory Council on ASCE’s Report Card for America’s Infrastructure as a member in 2003 and 2005, and as chair from 2008-2010. He was also an active member of AREMA, AWS, NSPE, ACEC, IBTTA, ARTBA, AISC and the Structural Engineers of NY.

Andrew Herrmann’s work exemplifies one of the guiding principles of Hardesty & Hanover – being a noted voice in the AEC industry. He will receive the honor at the Annual ENR Awards Breakfast on November 12th. For more click here: ASCE News or ENR.
