March 31, 2014

Hardesty & Hanover projects won four awards during the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York’s (ACEC New York) 47th annual Engineering Excellence Awards Gala at the Waldorf Astoria on Saturday, March 29th. We were pleased to accept awards for the following projects:

  • Jacques Chaban-Delmas Vertical Lift Bridge, Bordeaux, France – Diamond Award
  • Route 1&9T over St. Paul’s Viaduct, Jersey City, NJ – Platinum Award
  • Niantic River Railroad Bridge, East Lyme, CT – Gold Award
  • Bruckner Expressway Bridges, New York, NY – Gold Award

The awards were presented to projects that encompassed both the public and private sectors in several categories. The Jacques Chaban-Delmas Vertical Bridge won one of the top awards of the evening, the Diamond Award. The Diamond Award honors the work of ACEC New York member engineering firms on exceptional projects, both within New York State and throughout the world. The Jacques Chaban-Delmas project was advanced to the ACEC National 2014 Engineering Excellence Awards competition.

Award judging was based on complexity; future value to the engineering profession; original or innovative application of new or existing technologies; social, economic and sustainable design considerations; and meeting or exceeding client needs.

Congratulations to the entire Hardesty & Hanover team, our clients, and our teammates on receiving these prestigious awards.
