H&H Project Receives Engineering Excellence Award from ACEC New Jersey

March 27, 2015

The Route 1&9T (25) over St. Paul’s Viaduct Bridge project received the Honor Award for Engineering Excellence (EEA) during the American Council of Engineering Companies New Jersey Chapter’s annual Engineering Excellence Awards Banquet on March 11th.

ACEC New Jersey’s annual competition recognizes and celebrates engineering achievements that demonstrate the highest degree of skill and ingenuity among firms throughout the state of New Jersey. Projects entered into New Jersey’s EEA competition are rated on the basis of uniqueness and innovative applications; future value to the engineering profession; perception by the public; social, economic, and sustainable development considerations; complexity; and successful fulfillment of client/owner’s needs, including schedule and budget.

The new Route 1 & 9T Mainline Viaduct over St. Paul’s Avenue provides connections to Route 1 & 9T, Route 7, Pulaski Skyway, Route 139, Route 1 & 9 north of Tonnele Circle, and local streets in Jersey City. H&H served as the prime consultant from the study phase through preliminary design to final design and construction. The project won a Platinum Award from ACEC NY last year, and will receive a National ACEC Award this summer.
