Hardesty & Hanover and Kiewit Infrastructure South have been recognized by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Southeast Region for our work on the Emergency Rehabilitation of the Bear Cut and West Bridges on the Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami, FL.
The project was awarded the Best Project – Renovation/Rehabilitation/ Restoration and the Honor Award – Infrastructure. The award was given at the Association’s Annual Awards Gala in Atlanta, GA on November 13th.

The annual awards program was established to recognize design-build projects which represent the best that the design-build industry has to offer. Submissions are judged by a panel of owners and DBIA professionals and winners are honored for design and construction that meets and exceeds owner expectations.

The $34 million design-build project included replacement the of superstructure and widening for bicyclists. The design and construction was completed within 16 months and included an investigation of an unknown foundation.
