H&H wins two ACEC NY EEA Platinum Awards

March 30, 2015

H&H received two 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards from ACEC of New York, March 28, at the Association’s black tie gala.

The first award was for the design-build of the Replacement of Ramp MQ at the RFK Bridge, which won the Platinum Award in the category of Structural Systems. H&H worked along side Halmar International to successfully complete the reconstruction and seismic upgrade of a 25-span, 47-year-old elevated ramp structure. Located between two of the city’s busiest toll plazas, this 1,360-foot-long ramp carries traffic south to the Queensbound approach of the RFK Bridge.

The second award was for construction management and inspection services for the Henry Hudson Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which won the Platinum Award in the category of Transportation. H&H Construction Services was the prime consultant, providing construction management and inspection services for the project, which involved providing CM services for two simultaneous rehabilitation contracts at the 78-year-old Henry Hudson Bridge.

The judging of these awards was based on complexity, future value to the engineering profession, original or innovative application of new or existing technologies, and meeting or exceeding client needs.
