Mathews Bridge Honored as a Innovative, Community-Focused, Cost-Saving Project

September 3, 2014

The Mathews Bridge Impact and Emergency Response project was named as an award winner by the Southeastern Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (SASHTO) in their annual America’s Transportation Awards regional competition. The Mathews Bridge award was for the Best Use of Innovation. The project will now compete in the national American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) awards competition. AASHTO will select ten projects to compete for the National Grand Prize and People’s Choice Award. The Grand Prize winner is selected by a panel of transportation experts. The People’s Choice Award is decided by online voting, which begins September 8th. The winners of both national awards will be announced in November, at the AASHTO Annual Meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Congratulations to the Florida DOT and the entire Mathews Bridge Team.
