His responsibilities have included overseeing transportation planning, construction inspection and support services for highways; all types of movable, fixed and railroad bridges; as well as special structures. Charlie has also performed Quality Control/Quality Assurance on many major projects. He has been involved in the design, inspection, evaluation and rehabilitation of hundreds of bridges in the United States, particularly in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area.

Andrew Coates is currently responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the firm. His management experience includes overseeing feasibility studies; inspection and analysis; seismic analysis and retrofit; structure rehabilitation; roadway design; viaducts and highway interchange structure design; long span and movable bridge design; geotechnical design; environmental analysis; permitting and construction support for new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures. He is also responsible for maintaining and assuring project quality; schedule and budget during development of contract plans; specifications and cost estimates, as well as supervision of construction contracts and subconsultants.

Rob Moses is responsible for the design, inspection, and evaluation of electrical systems for movable bridges and special structures. His professional portfolio—over 100 multi-disciplined Hardesty & Hanover projects—includes bascules, vertical lifts, swings, and other movable structures. From inspection to rehabilitation and new design for construction, Robert’s expertise and experience encompasses power distribution systems; control systems; motor-drive systems; remote monitoring and control; bridge imbalance measurement; architectural and roadway lighting; traffic control and rail signalization equipment; claim mediation; and design review. He is responsible for, and prime contributor to, the statewide study to remotely control the New Jersey DOT’s movable bridges; a system designed to operate twenty-two movable bridges from a central location.
