2009 American Council of Engineering Companies – (ACEC-New York)
The American Council of Engineering Companies of New York has honored Hardesty & Hanover, LLP (H&H) with three Engineering Excellence Awards for 2009, including their highest level award. These awards exemplify H&H’s level of commitment to delivering our mission of engineering excellence on every project.
- Reconstruction of Grand Concourse over East 161st Street & Grand Concourse – Hardesty & Hanover, LLP (H&H) provided Resident Engineering Inspection services on this project. H&H also provided CPM review and Demolition review for the NYCDOT. – The Diamond Award
- NW 17th Avenue Bridge over the Miami River – Hardesty and Hanover carried out an in-depth inspection of the mechanical and electrical systems and prepared a written report of deficiencies and recommendations. Hardesty and Hanover was retained by the Contractor to value engineer the 2007 structural rehabilitation work for the bascule span that had been prepared by others and the complete replacement of the operating system (mechanical and electrical) as well as to conduct inspections, prepare contract plans and actively participate in the construction process which resulted from the implementation of the value engineering proposals. – The Platinum Award
- Sanibel Island Causeway of San Carlos Bay – Hardesty & Hanover, LLP performed an alternative design study of the first of three bridges (Bridge A) crossing the San Carlos Bay in Fort Myers followed by the design of a fixed bridge to replace a deteriorating bascule bridge. H&H also provided construction support services. – The Gold Award

On Tuesday, February 3rd, the AGC of CT announced Tomlinson Vertical-Lift Bridge as the Honorable Mention (2nd Place) award recipient in the category of Large New Construction. The Tomlinson Bridge project was submitted by Cianbro and was 1 of 11 applicants for this category.
