The Willis Avenue Bridge was awarded the Prize Bridge Award for movable bridges by the National Steel Bridge Alliance (NBSA) through their 2014 Prize Bridge Awards Competition.  The bridge also received an Accelerated Bridge Construction Commendation.

Conducted every other year by the NSBA, the Prize Bridge Awards recognize innovative design and engineering achievements on structural steel bridge projects throughout the country and is the highest honor bestowed on steel bridge projects by the U.S. structural steel industry. The Willis project team received the award on March 26th during the combined 2014 World Steel Bridge Symposium and North American Steel Conference in Toronto. Winning projects were selected based on innovation, aesthetics, and design and engineering solutions by a jury of five engineering and construction professionals.
